Cultural Influences on Asiatic Ties

Culture is more than just foods, garments, terminology, traditions and practices, it’s also the way we interact and connect to one another. And the relations we have with some shape our existence and decide our nicely being.

In Eastern faiths where a solid sense of family ideals, training and recognize are emphasized, familial authorization for dating or marriage lovers is often required. When these beliefs collide with American independence, it can lead to strained relationships

Despite the fact that they share common characteristics such as family values, a commitment to education and respect for tradition, the differences between Asian Americans are great. The group is comprised of people from nearly 52 distinct countries with diverse languages, cultures and traditions.

For instance, those who are second- generation Asian Americans with foundations in Korea, Japan or Vietnam are likely to have differing ideas about what it means to be” Asiatic”. These differences may also play a role in how well they fare when facing racism and other forms of discrimination.

A study that investigated racial identity theory suggested that individuals who endorse Asian values and experience high levels of racism reported lower well- being than those who endorse Western values. While there are many reasons for this, it could be that those who strongly identify with their racial/ethnic group have the resources to draw upon cultural values and styles of coping in these difficult situations. For example, a person who believes in emotional restraint might have the internal resources to deal with racist incidents because they believe these actions will not negatively impact their racial/ethnic community.
